Afikpo North Council Boss Embarks on Spot Assessment, As Flood Wrecks Havoc In Amasiri



Following the flooding in some parts of Amasiri in Afikpo North Local Government Area few days ago, the Caretaker Chairman of Afikpo North LGA on Friday, 26th June 2020 paid a working visit to the affected villages and farmlands in Amasiri on spot assessment of the damage caused by the flooding.

The flood which wrecked Havocs on residential buildings and other property  is said to be one of the worst in recent times.


The Council Boss who was accompanied by the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation, Barr Oby Oko Enyim, the Coordinator of Afikpo North East DC, Hon Innocent Inya Eluu, former Vice Chairman, Dame Priscillia Idam and other Public Officers of Afikpo North Local Government Area expressed shock at the level of damage the flood caused to the homes and farms of Amasiri people and promised to among other things reach out to SEMA and NEMA for other interventions.

Mrs Amuche Otunta used the opportunity to make donations of cash and food items to the victims of the disaster and disclosed her preparedness to take measures that would foreclose future occurrence.

The flood victims appreciated the Council Boss for her magnanimity.
