Afikpo North Council Boss Visits, Commiserates With Bereaved Family of Man Who Died During PDP Primaries

Chief Ogbonnia Oko Enyim, the Executive Chairman of Afikpo North Local Government Area, on Sunday,1st March 2020 led officials and stakeholders of Afikpo North LGA on a condolence visit to the Ibiam’s family at Unwana, who lost their son, Enyinnia Uche Ibiam, to the cold hands of death during the PDP Councillorship Primaries at Unwana ward A.

Oko Enyim was accompanied in the condolence visit by the Vice Chairman of the Local Government Area, PDP Chairman, a Commissioner in Ebonyi State Revenue Appeal Commission, Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja, the Divisional Police Officer of Afikpo Division, Councilors; Supervisors, as well as other Principal Staff of the Council.

The Council boss condemned in strong terms the killing of the young man and enjoined the youths of the area to embrace the attitudinal policy of Governor David Umahi led Administration.

He expressed shock and sadness on the circumstances surrounding the demise of the deceased who came to discharge his civic obligation, and extended his condolences onbehalf of his family, the Government and good people of Afikpo North on the unfortunate development and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss with equanimity.

Also speaking, Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja, a commissioner in Ebonyi state Revenue Appeal Commission and LGA PDP Chairman, Mr Sunday Oko Nnachi condemned the circumstances that led to the demise of Enyinnia and prayed God to comfort the family.

Enyinnia Uche Ibiam a former staff of Akanu Ibiam federal Polytechnic, Unwana was reportedly shot dead during the last PDP Councillorship election in Unwana ward, Afikpo North local government Area of Ebonyi State, prompting the state governor, Engr David Umahi, to order the sack and and arrest of the Coordinator of Ubeyi Development centre and Technical Assistant to the governor, all from the area.
