Anambra 2021: “We are switched to win” – PDP Insists

The Peoples Democratic Party, South East Zone says despite the non inclusion of the name of its candidate in the INEC list of particulars of candidates for November elections, the party was now more ready for a victorious outing.

Augustine Elochukwu Okeke, Zonal Publicity Secretary South East PDP who gave the hint on Friday assured PDP supporters of the party’s readiness to clinch victory in the November 6, 2021 gubernatorial elections in Anambra state.

In a statement titled; “Anambra Governorship election, PDP in pole position to win” the zonal publicity secretary said “the non-inclusion of the name of PDP’s candidate in the list by INEC is procedural and does not imply that PDP will not participate in the coming election”

“One would recall that faced with multiple litigations during the Imo North Senatorial bye-election, INEC took a similar stance by not including a candidate’s name for the All Progressive Congress in the list”

“The considerable public interest, commentaries and concern shown by Nigerians who are worried about the non-inclusion of PDP in the list, is a testament to the acceptance of PDP as the party that Nigerians and Anambra people implicitly and absolutely trust to deliver good governance for Anambra people”

“The PDP, South East Zone heartily appreciates this concern and the solidarity Nigerians have continued to accord PDP and hereby, re-assures Nigerians of our commitment to deliver good governance in Anambra state” the statement added.

Recall that the names of former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, who is the APGA Candidate, and that of ex-TransCorp Hilton Hotel boss, Chief Valentine Ozoigbo of the PDP were conspicuously missing from the list of candidates published Friday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the November 6 Anambra State Governorship Election; a development which had ignited wild reactions.
