Ebonyi Govt Approves Re-opening of Courts in The State

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state has approved that Courts in The State be reopened for judicial services with effect from Monday, 29th June 2020.

According to a statement by Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji, Commissioner for Information and State Orientation and Ag Commissioner Human Capital Development and Monitoring, the Governor  after due consultation with the State Chief Judge, has approved the re-opening of all the courts in the state with effect from Monday, 29th June 2020.

The statement further hinted that the Governor however emphasized the need for individuals to strictly observe the wearing of facemasks and social distancing while conducting their private or public businesses.

Recall that the governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, on Friday ordered the immediate shutdown of all judiciary buildings in the state for ten (10) days to enable health workers to fumigate the buildings and premises.

He gave the directive in a broadcast to residents of the state, and also ordered that all staff of the Judiciary in the state and their families proceeded for COVID-19 test.
