Ebonyi Govt Reunites 2 Young Men Repatriated from Anambra with families, After A Raid on Mentally Challenged Persons



The Ebonyi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has reunited two young men who were repatriated from Anambra State, with their families.

A statement signed by Mrs Nkechinyere Uche, Head of Public Relations in the Ministry confirmed that according to the handover report, Chukwudi Igboke 30 years old from Umugbo Izhiamgbo, Ohaukwu LGA and Oge Izuchukwu 25 years old from Obobo Ishieke, Ebonyi LGA, were picked up by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs, Anambra State, following a raid on mentally challenged persons in the state.

The statement further said the duo were rehabilitated and certified medically fit for repatriation by a Neuro psychiatric Doctor.

The Hon Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Chief Mrs Deborah Chinwe Okah, while receiving them from the Chief Repatriation Officer, Mr Obiora, appreciated the Government of Anambra State for their kind gesture in ensuring that the young men where properly taken care of medically and otherwise and also for deeming it fit to bring them back to their State.

She noted that the Governor of the State and his wife, Mrs Rachel Ogonna Umahi were committed to improving the welfare of the less privileged in the state and assured them that the Ministry will ensure that the young men were reunited with their families and also reintegrated back to the society.
