Ebonyi IPAC Suspends 5 Members For Misconduct

The Ebonyi State Chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), has suspended some of its members over alleged offences of Gross misconducts and other flagrant breaches of the Council’s Code of Conducts.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had announced that some parties were deregistered; a decision that was deflated as the Court opposed the decision, leading to a revert in status quo.

In a statement made available to NationsTrends, the Ebonyi IPAC said it had passed a vote of no confidence on the affected members as recommended by a Nine-Man Committee earlier set up to investigate the members.

Part of the statement read;

“Following the outcome of the meeting of the Ebonyi State Chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), held on 4th March, 2020 at the Council’s Secretariat, Abakaliki, the Council after considering the report and recommendations of a Nine-Man Committee earlier set up to investigate one Mr. Ituma Austin Nweze, the State Chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chinedum Elekwachi of APP, Ani Paschal Ndubuisi of the Accord Party and Mrs. Kate Ohakam of APM, for Gross misconducts and other flagrant breaches of the Council’s Code of Conducts.

The statement further disclosed that the Council’s actions were in view of the fact that the strongest recommendation of the investigating Committee was for a Vote of No Confidence and Indefinite Suspension of the aforementioned erring members”

Excerpts of the statement below;

Consequently a motion was moved by Hon. Samuel Udume, the State Chairman of Action Democratic Congress (ADC), calling for the indefinite suspension of Ituma Austin Nweze, Chinedum Elekwachi, Ani Paschal Ndubuisi and Mrs. Kate Ohakam’s as recommended by the Nine-Man investigation Panel.

The motion was seconded by Comr. Obasi James Alina, the State Chairman of Action Alliance, and was unanimously adopted by the Council members and resolved as follows:

1. That Ituma Austin Nweze, Chinedum Elekwachi, Ani Paschal Ndubuisi and Mrs. Kate Ohakam’s inordinate ambitions that led to self inauguration and attempt to parade themselves as Interim Executives of IPAC in Ebonyi State is ILLEGAL, as the Council still has duly elected and substantive Executives ably led by Comr. Nwogba Morgan, the State Chairman of United Patriots.

2. That Ituma Austin Nweze, Chinedum Elekwachi, Ani Paschal Ndubuisi and Mrs. Kate Ohakam have ILLEGALLY been holding meetings in hotels, beer parlors and in uncompleted buildings in the name of IPAC which is in breach of the IPAC Code of Conduct..

3. That Ituma Austin Nweze, Chinedum Elekwachi, Ani Paschal Ndubuisi and Mrs. Kate Ohakam have been conducting press conferences in both prints and electronic media without the approval or authorization of the elected IPAC Chairman, Comr. Nwogba Morgan.

4. That Ituma Austin Nweze, Chinedum Elekwachi, Ani Paschal Ndubuisi and Mrs. Kate Ohakam criminally forged our members signatures and IPAC documents in an attempt to misinform, distort, fabricate and defraud the general public and thereby, drag the name of IPAC to the mud.

5. That based on the aforementioned deviant and extravagant behaviours and constitutional breaches of Mr. Ituma Austin Nweze of SDP, Mr. Chinedum Elekwachi of APP, Mr. Ani Paschal Ndubuisi of Accord party and Mrs. Kate Ohakam of APM, the members of IPAC, Ebonyi State Chapter under the leadership of Comr. Nwogba Morgan hereby suspend the said Mr. Ituma Austin Nweze of SDP, Mr. Chinedum Elekwachi of APP, Mr. Ani Paschal Ndubuisi of Accord party and Mrs. Kate Ohakam of APM INDEFINITELY from ALL activities of IPAC in the state with effect from this day, 4th March, 2020.

6. Consequently, Mr. Ituma Austin Nweze, Mr. Chinedum Elekwachi, Mr. Ani Paschal Ndubuisi and Mrs. Kate Ohakam, are hereby directed to hand over every Council’s document in their possession to the Secretary of IPAC with immediate effect.

7. The general public is hereby advised to disregard the fake news emanating from these over ambitious and impatient power thirsty individuals who now go about, impersonating IPAC leadership to deceive and defraud the unsuspecting public.

The under listed members have endorsed their suspension
