Ebonyi State Government Revives Workers Transport Assistance Scheme

The Ebonyi State Government has re-introduced Workers transportation scheme to ease the transportation challenges of workers in the state.

The scheme which resumed full operations in the early hours of today, saw the Special Assistant to the governor on Inter-Party and Labour Matters, Comr. (Mrs.) Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor drive along side with some of the workers from the Akanu Ibiam International Conference Centre to the Centenary City where they were welcomed amidst jubilations among the workers at the Centenary city.

The workers who were full of praises on seeing the resumption of operations of the marcapolo buses earlier donated by His Excellency, Engr Chief David Umahi to ease their transport difficulties, thanked and praised his Excellency for reviving the transport scheme and prayed God to continue to grant him wisdom to pilot the affairs of the state.

The workers also extoled the SA to His Excellency on Inter-Party and Labour Matters for her doggedness and commitments which culminated to the resumption of the workers transport scheme.

Addressing the jubilant workers, the Special Assistant assured them of His Excellency’s continuous commitment to their welfare, and urged them to ensure they reciprocate the governor’s kind gestures to them through greater commitments to their jobs.

She assured them that the transport scheme has come to stay and informed them to always converge at the Akanu Ibiam International Conference Centre at 7.30am, Mondays to Fridays to join the bus to the Centenary city.

The Special Assistant also used the occasion to sensitize the workers on the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world today and on the precautionary measures to imbibe in order to stay safe from the scourge. She passionately spoke to allay their fears of the pandemic, and assured them of the state government’s commitments and measures already put in place to check the infiltration of the virus into the state.
