The Ebonyi State ministry of Environment has concluded plans to train and upgrade the status of the members of the ministry’s taskforce team.
The Commissioner for Environment Comrade Jonah Egba disclosed this in a meeting he had with members of the taskforce at his office, Centenary City Abakaliki.
Comrade Egba said that after training the team, they would cease to be called taskforce but would be known and addressed as “Ebonyi State Environmental Marshal”

He noted with dismay the ugly behaviors of some of the so called taskforce parading themselves everywhere in the state, adding that with the new name and everything they would be attached to it, they would be distinguished from others to avoid impersonation.
He equally appreciated the good works they have been doing for the state and charged them to brace up with the challenges ahead.
“Environment is an international assignment recognised everywhere by the international community.
5% of our functions is to keep the city clean, there are many other things that we need to do” he said.
