In his speech, the AE-FUTHA Board Chairman, Dr Tijjani Ramalan, expressed gratitude over the successful completion of the project despite initial challenges.

He further described the project as one of Federal Government brave moves towards converting the Teaching Hospital to a health attraction centre for tourists within and outside the country.

On his own part, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Emeka Onwe Ogah thanked the Federal Government and lauded Dr Chikwe for carrying out such a health project for the sake, growth of the hospital as well as wellbeing of the citizenry.

The Director thanked the Federal Ministry of Health for assisting to equip the hospital under President Buhari’s Health Initiatives, noting that the Viral Research, Treatment and Control Centre was the only centre recently built and in use for both South-East and South-South regions of the country and therefore called for its conversion to a Regional Centre (RC)
