“Umahi’s Promise To Lift Ebonyians Out of Poverty Is Feasible With The People’s Support’ – Adaolaedo



Adaolaedo, the media aide to the govenor office of her Excellency, has said that Engr David Umahi’s promise to lift Ebonyi people out of poverty was realisable if the people could screw their faith on him through loyalty, support and hardwork.

Adaolaedo stated this in Abakaliki while reacting to the governor’s directive that every bank in Ebonyi state must have at least a branch in each of the 13 LGAs of the state.

She emphasised that with the new policy, means of economic emancipation was afforded the grassroot people, while applauding the state governor, David Umahi for maintaining that the preoccupation of his administration was to move the people out of poverty.

The governor who made the disclosure at Onueke, Ezza South, venue of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Account Opening Flag off exercise, maintained that the infrastructural facilities ranging from flyovers and good roads, were all secondary, placing human capital development and creating an environment through which the people can escape poverty as primary in his policy plans.

Umahi said;

“This is highly commendable, we must take advantage of these programs and get our people out of poverty.
“Anything that will promote the well-being of our people, we can’t ignore”.

He assured the apex bank of total enrollment in the Account Opening exercise.

He urged all the Development Centre Coordinators, Executive Assistants, Senior Technical Assistants, and Technical Assistants to ensure speedy submission of details for further necessary actions, while urging various banks in the state to expand branch networks to the 13 Council Areas of the State.

He also assured of “provision of Closed Circuit Cameras, CCTV to track criminal elements.

The Branch Controller of CBN, Chris Adayi had earlier promised to make the process of enrolment less cumbersome by opening centres in all the Council Areas of the State.

The governor later flagged off the exercise by enrolling.
